Vp6dx.do As-is, VP6DX.BA has short-term value to Radio Amateurs who desire contact with DXpedition operators of station VP6DX while it's on-air at Ducie Island. Ducie Island is a South Pacific atoll that's located at South 24°40'52.6" by West 124°47'11.0". The program reports the sunset time in UTC and sunrise time in UTC at Ducie Island (and solar azimuths) for the current date. It senses the DATE$ function of the laptop in order to ascertain the current date. Because times are reported in UTC (i.e., the Greenwich Mean Time zone) and the TIME$ function influences the change of date occurrence in the DATE$ function, accurate reports result only where you have set TIME$ and DATE$ of the laptop so that they express the UTC time and the UTC date. However for Grayline propagation prediction purposes, sufficiently accurate reports are obtained where the DATE$ of the laptop differs from the UTC date by less than 2 days. Note that VP6DX.BA is a special purpose variant of SUNUP.BA which also is available (file SUNUP.DO).

Sunup.do SUNUP.BA reports sunset and sunrise times and solar azimuths at any Earth location for any date. It first prompts for the Latitude/Longitude coordinates of a place on Earth. Express coordinates in degrees as fractional numbers using: positive values for North latitudes and East longitudes, and negative values for South latitudes and West longitudes. For example, input "-37.81666667, 144.9666667" for the location of the city of Melbourne, Australia (i.e., South 37°49'0", by East 144°58'0"). It next prompts for a time zone for time results. Express this as a quantity of time zones situated West of Greenwich, England. For example, input "0" for the Greenwich Mean Time zone (i.e., time results in UTC). Lastly, it prompts you to elect a date using the format: numeric year, numeric month, numeric day. You may elect any past date, the current date, or any future date. For example, input "2012, 12, 21" for the date of December 21, 2012. The program then reports the time and solar azimuth of sunset and sunrise.

Plan 1c Beam Azimuths from Field Day 200 Azimuthal equidistance projection map centered on a 1320-foot elevation Field Day 2009 site. It shows the radio coverage by the two selectable major lobes of a 2-element echelon array (a coparallel array, end-fire antenna) as two color coded areas of ±27.5° beamwidth: blue&green along bidirectional 280°==100° heading, and red&orange along bidirectional 225°==045° heading.

SECTNS.DO This is a list of 83 section abbreviations that are in effect for the November Sweepstakes of 2012. There are 71 sections of the American Radio Relay League (ARRL); there are 12 sections of the Radio Amateurs of Canada (RAC). A section abbreviation is either 2-letter or 3-letter. With the cursor positioned at the beginning of file SECTNS.DO, press the F1 key (Find) and then enter a section abbreviation followed by 1 Space character in order to determine the validity of a section abbreviation. For example, pressing F1 and entering "SJV " confirms that SJV is a valid section abbreviation and that it stands for the "San Joaquin Valley" section.

JD_MJD.DO JD MJD.BA converts the Gregorian date that the Model T laptop (M10x or M200) holds in its calendar to the corresponding Julian Day (JD) and Modified Julian Day (MJD). It is valid for Gregorian dates from January 1, 2000 (i.e., DATE$ of 01/01/00) through December 31, 2099 (i.e., DATE$ of 12/31/99). The simplified mathematics of this program is made possible by using a baseline JD of 1721119.5 (see commentary of line 5), which corresponds to the Gregorian date of March 3 in the year 1 Before Common Era (BCE) at midnight Universal Time Coordinated (UTC). Note that the MJD is a 5-digit shortened variant of the JD. You may use the 5 numerals of the MJD as the trailing 5 characters in a filename to designate its date. For example, file J56116.DO is a journal file for the Gregorian date of July 8, 2012.
